ABOUT COMMUNITY/REGIONAL PRAYER SUMMIT

1. WHAT IS THE COMMUNITY/REGIONAL PRAYER SUMMIT?
(A) The prayer summit is a diversity of Christian pastors and ministry leaders that come together to seek God in intercession for Decatur, Central Illinois, the United States and the World.
2. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE PRAYER SUMMIT?
(A) The purpose for the prayer summit is to give church leaders, government officials and individuals an opportunity to unite together, humble ourselves, repent, petition and seek God for wisdom and direction.
3. WHO ATTENDS THE PRAYER SUMMITS?
(A) The prayer summits are primarily attended by community/regional pastors, their members, ministry leaders, partners and individuals from the community. Community/Regional Pastors have also released members of their congregations to be part of the Community/Regional Prayer Summit's worship team, usher/altar workers team and intercessory prayer team.
4. WHEN ARE THE PRAYER SUMMITS HELD?
(A) The prayer summits are held every 5th Tuesday of the month. There are usually four 5th Tuesdays in every year; however, on occasion there are five (5), as in 2008, 2014 and 2019.
5. HOW LONG ARE THE PRAYER SUMMITS?
(A) The prayer summits last approximately two hours. They are scheduled from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
6. WHO HAS ATTENDED THE PRAYER SUMMITS IN THE PAST?
(A) Past prayer summits have been attended by IL State Representative Bob Flider, Mayor Paul Osborne (Decatur), School District 61 Superintendent Elmer McPherson (Decatur), States Attorney Jack Ahola (Macon County), City Council member Dan Caulkins (Decatur), Police Chief James Anderson (Decatur), Deputy Sheriff Anthony Brown (Macon County), IL State Senator Andy Manar, City Council member Pat McDaniel (Decatur), States Attorney Jay Scott (Macon County), City Manager Tim Gleason (Decatur), City Council member Dana Ray (Decatur), Mayor Julie Moore-Wolfe (Decatur), St. Mary’s Hospital President Joan Coffman (Decatur), Mayor Andy Ezard (Jacksonville), Police Chief Adam Mefford (Jacksonville), community/regional pastors and members of their congregations, ministry leaders and their partners.

(A) The prayer summits have been hosted by different community/regional churches.

9. WHO PAYS FOR THE PRAYER SUMMITS?
(A) The prayer summits are funded by community/regional churches, leaders, individuals, public free will offerings.
10. HOW ARE INTERCESSORS CHOSEN TO PRAY AT THE SUMMITS?
(A) Pastors and ministers are chosen usually based on their participation in the Community/Regional Prayer Summit's (free) strategy breakfasts and summit attendance. The summit is also designed to build fellowship and relationships between community/regional leaders and intercessors.
